week 7

Assignment- the assignment for this week was to come up with a story that included the following: 1 person is traveling, 1 person is waiting, and 1 of them has a package for the other one.

Craft (How I did it)- The first thing we had to do was to find a partner. After finding a partner,we had to brainstorm ideas about what our story would be about. We each had several ideas but we finally narrowed it down to one story. All we have to do now is to take the pictures for our comic and start putting them together.

Composition (Arrangement of elements)- The story we are doing is about a woman who is home alone one night and watching a movie. All of a sudden she hears something and she gets scared. She runs to put the light on but it doesn't work. The noise gets louder and someone is now knocking on the door. She is not expecting anyone which is why she is so afraid. She runs to the kitchen to grab a knife for protection. Someone has now entered her home and walking toward her. Right when she is about to stab the person, she realizes that he is only a pizza delivery guy and he had the wrong address.

Concept (what I am trying to say)- The concept of this story is that one should never jump to conclusions and assume the worse.

Week 6

Assignment- the assignment for this week was to have our first draft of the mesh picture ready to be evaluated . This picture was supposed to show what message we are trying to get across.

Craft (How I did it)- I started by taking a couple of new picture in order to use the best ones for my final picture. I had an idea in my head and i wanted to get it in a photo. After picking several pictures i wanted to use, i began editing them on photoshop and meshing them together.

Composition (Arrangement of elements)- The arrangement of this picture draws attention to the kid who is flying first, then to the background of the sky and the sun.

Concept (What I am trying to say)- In this picture i am trying to say that this little boy would go beyond his grasp just to help out those in need. Although i am not done with this photo, the final picture will be a bit clearer. There will be a diabled person in a wheelchair and the littly boy tries to help by getting what she cant reach.

week 5

Assignment- The assignment for this week was to think of an idea that we feel strongly about and express it through the pictures we took.

Craft- Im doing this by taking pictures of things that would help get my message across. I took 25 pictures already and i have an idea about what pictures i want to mesh together.

Composition- After I figured out what pictures I wanted to use, i began thinking of how i could use them in one picture. I am thinking about having a picture of a boy who looks like he is flying and a piture of the sky or the sunset and mix them. I also have a picture of a sparkly diamond ring that i want to use as well.

Concept- My concept in this picture is going to be a young boy who dreams that he could fly but never does until one day he sees something shiny and sparkly up there. He then decides to go for it and ends up flying. The basic concept is that it is okay to dream big even if you know something wont happen.

week 4

Assignment- The assignment was to combine one picture from the Lincoln era with a picture from now. This was the assignment for last week as well but we are just putting the finishing touches on the pictures now.

Craft- (How i did this) I did this by getting 25 pictures from the Lincoln era and putting them on my flashdrive. Then i went around and took 25 pictures new pictures and saved them as well. I then went on photoshop and combined two pictures i thought would look good together and edited them. I decided to change my picture from last week because my message was not clear in the picture. I wanted to make sure that others could see what i was trying to say with my new picture.

Composition- The most important thing in my picture was Lincoln and his son because it showed that they were just out trying to have a good time. The soldier were also important because they were there for protection and they draw most peoples attention first.

Craft- (What are you trying to say?) I chose to combine these photos together becasue i thought they had a good meaning. I thought that the picture of Lincoln and his son hanging out downtown showed that they were just normal people having a good time out together. The soldiers at the top of the building were there as a form of protection for Lincoln and his son in case anyone tried to harm them.

week 3

Assignment- Take one old picture and one new picture and mix them together to form one picture.

Craft (How I did it) - I did this by looking at the pictures i have and deciding which ones are my favorites. After picking the two I wanted to use, I went to photoshop and pasted the picture on there. Then I mixed the old picture of Lincoln with the new picture I took. Then I began trimming the photo of Abe to make it look as if it were taken at the same time as the new picture.

Composition- I chose these photos as my best because i liked the picture with the trees hanging out form the side and i thought it would look nice when I mixed it with the picture of Abe. 

Concept- What I was trying to say was that Abe is a normal guy who likes to hang out in front of the lake without being bothered by other people.

Week 2

Assignment- The assignment was to get 25 pictures from the Lincoln era, and 25 new pictures.

Craft- First i went online and found pictures from the LIncoln era that I found interesting and put them on my flash drive. Then i found 10 pictures

 that were previo

usly taken by me and also put them on the flash drive. And finally too, 15 new pictures and stored them as well.

Composition- I choose this picture as one of my favor

ites because this picture was taken during the civil w

ar and by looking at this young man you see the fear in his ey

es. And although he might be in fear, he is still in his uniform and ready to fight. As for the recent picture

 i choose the picture i took when I was in Florida. It is one of my favorites because I love the sight of nature and this picture shows just that from a high view. 

Concept- As of right now I am thinking about mixing the picture of those who died in the civil war and the picture of the sun going down and the tree branches sticking out from the sides. I think these would look well together because by mixing them it shows how dar

k that day was for them and the tree branches that are sticking out just make it seem very believable. 

Week 1

Assignment- The assignment was to set up a blog

Craft- I grabbed a photo of myself off the web, set up a gmail account, went to blogger.com and began blogging.

Composition- I chose this photo because it reminds me of the great vacation me and my my sister had before she went off to medical school. I chose this template because it describes my personality, nice and calm. The colors work well with each other and it sets a nice tone to the overall page.

Concept- What makes me so good is i feel that I am a hardworking person and I am always driven to do better no matter what it takes or how long it takes. I am always up for the challenge.
